Their technological ingenuity included the creation of the Obunigwe bomb and vehicles powered by almond oil due to fuel scarcity.

The war caused immense suffering, with over 5 million deaths, many from starvation due to a blockade imposed by Nigeria. Unable to defeat the Biafrans militarily, Nigeria resorted to starvation as a weapon, triggering a devastating humanitarian crisis.

Simon Ekpa is a prominent Biafran activist who became the Prime Minister of the Biafra Government in Exile after Nnamdi Kanu’s illegal kidnapping.
